Hermentaire is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, music composition, filmmaking and photography. Working between Paris and Paros, he develops a distinctive visual and narrative language that moves fluidly between figurative and abstract forms, creating interconnected worlds across multiple mediums.

His paintings are characterised by rich chromatic compositions and an exploration of material contrasts, particularly through the interplay between acrylic on canvas and watercolour on paper. Through layered surfaces and luminous colour fields, Hermentaire constructs immersive visual environments that balance technical precision with poetic imagination.

Central to his practice is the recurring presence of the “Djambo O’cibilé,” an invented community of zoomorphic and anthropomorphic figures inspired by mythology, cultural heritage and personal storytelling. These enigmatic characters inhabit landscapes shaped by ecological and social tensions, while the recurring motif of the eye serves as a symbol of perception, vigilance and collective memory.

Across all media, Hermentaire’s work explores themes of identity, narrative and transformation, bringing together visual, sonic and cinematic elements into a singular and deeply personal artistic universe.
