Sarah Gilfillan is a painter working in abstraction in New York City. Originally from Central New York, she has, throughout her career, had studios in New York, Los Angeles and the Hudson Valley. Gilfillan’s work draws inspiration from the forms of Dadaist Jean Arp, and rich subterranean tones derived from nature. In each painting, her instinctual compositions strike a balance between caprice and structure.
